Headmaster’s Newsletter – 22 January 2016

Dear Parent,

Next week sees the first Parents’ Evenings of term. On Monday parents of children in the Upper School Hans classes are invited and on Tuesday those in Kings classes. Doors open at 5.30. There will be displays of work throughout the building for you to see. Time is limited on these evenings so if you feel there is a need to discuss anything particular in greater depth than is possible on the night then please feel free to arrange a follow up meeting.

The Hill House uniform is an important part of the school and pupils are ambassadors for the school whenever they wear it. Please ensure that all children come to school smartly dressed with the correct uniform and polished shoes. All children are required to wear their Gold Jumper for the Wednesday Assembly.

If your child is going to be late or absent from school for any reason (illness, interview, doctor’s appointment) it is vital we are informed. Please use the absentee form on the school website and this will be forwarded directly to the relevant person.

This week sees the second year of the Betjeman Poetry Competition. This is in Founders’ Hall on Thursday at 6.30pm. There is a distinguished panel of judges led by the Chairman of the John Betjeman Society. This event is open to all, so please do support it.

There is a Piano Showcase on Wednesday and nine sports fixtures through the week. All details can be found on the calendar page of the website.

Please see the calendar page for provisional term dates for 2017.

I wish you all a good weekend.

Richard Townend
