Headmaster’s Newsletter – 14 October 2016

Dear Parents,

Next week is the final week before Half Term and as is traditional Friday will be a “Mufti Day” throughout the school. This term we will be raising money for the Italian Red Cross and particularly their work in the aftermath of the earthquake earlier this year. It is our custom to raise money for charities that have a specific focus on children. We are raising money specifically for the Italian Red Cross this time as tragically two former parents lost their lives in the earthquake leaving behind their children. The family was extremely grateful for the work of the Red Cross at the time. A minimum donation of £1 is requested. There will also be a cake sale in both Cadogan Gardens and Hans Place. A maximum of £5 per child may be spent at the cake sale.

Continuing on the philanthropic note, thank you for the generosity of your donations for The Upper Room. These are always gratefully received and will make a real difference to the lives of many who live among us.

A reminder that tomorrow, Saturday 15 October, Billings & Edmonds will be setting up their pop-up shop in Founders’ Hall between 10.30am and 1.30pm. They will have a full range of uniform and sports kit available to purchase.

Next week sees the first of this year’s Drama showcases with the Upper Kappas and Deltas performing a “Circus of Poems”. The Kappas are on Wednesday 19 and Deltas on Thursday 20. Both shows are at 6pm in Founders’ Hall.

Senior School are off to the Tower of London on Wednesday and sports fixtures continue apace. Well done to the children in Lower and Middle Schools for their prowess in the very successful Athletics Day this morning. Thank you to all the sports teachers who helped organise it.
