Extraordinary as it may seem we are only two weeks away from the end of term. Next week sees the Christmas shows for Small, Lower and Middle Schools. Details of dates and timings have been sent separately. They are always a highlight of the year for parents and pupils alike. I hope to see many of you there.
The forthcoming week’s Showcases are Violins (Miss Alter and Miss Reinoso’s pupils) on Tuesday and Flutes, Oboes and Bassoons on Wednesday. Everyone is welcome to come to hear our talented musicians perform in Founders’ Hall.
Today the boys in Upper Alpha have been on a trip to the Houses of Parliament to complement their studies in History. This included a tour of the House of Commons and Westminster Hall followed by a workshop on making laws, a particularly interesting time to visit and learn about law, legislature and the wider role of Parliament after the Brexit referendum.
In Small School they have been concentrating on road safety this week in conjunction with the council. They had a talk on being “Street Wise” along with some role playing activities. As the days get shorter and the weather gets wetter it is important that we all take a little time to think about this very important subject.
Arrangements for the end of term will come in next week’s newsletter but in brief, Small School and Lower School will leave as normal. Middle School and above will be collected from the Scottish Church after the Carol Service, to which all parents are invited. The Carol Service begins at 11am. There will be no Friday Clubs on the last day of term.
If you require either the invoice or a copy of your child’s report to be sent to an address other than your home address please would you confirm this in an email to your Senior Tutor.
