Small School

Ages 4–5

Small School, situated in an historic building in Flood Street, is the beginning of an adventure in education. Here pupils will learn to read, write and count, sing and play music, enjoy art, swim and discover a variety of sports. We believe that active bodies mean active minds. Class sizes are small, of approximately 12 pupils per teacher. There are specialist teachers for Health, Music, Gym and Swimming.

The focus at Small School is to develop confident, independent, sociable and happy boys and girls. We have developed a creative, stimulating, fun and structured programme that is age and stage appropriate. The curriculum follows the EYFS seven areas of learning. We gradually build up the three prime areas of learning; physical development, communication & language and personal, social & emotional development. These are followed by the specific areas; literacy, mathematics, understanding the world and art, design & technology. Through a variety of activities, free play and structured sessions we seek to challenge and stimulate children beyond the boundaries of the raw demands of the national EYFS curriculum.

Every day will be exciting and develop their enthusiasm for being at school with their new found friends and a band of enthusiastic and caring teachers.
