REMINDER: Notice of a pupil leaving Hill House must be given to the Headmaster in writing before the first day of the pupil's final Quarter. Failure to do this will oblige a parent to pay the school a full Quarter's fee in lieu of notice. Notice given verbally or given in writing to any person other than the Headmaster will not count as good notice.

Fees are calculated on the number of weeks in each Quarter and the length of the school day. The fees are fully inclusive except for private music instrument lessons, Friday clubs and courses in Glion. Fees are payable in advance of the first day of each Quarter. We do not offer discounts. A late payment surcharge of £100 will be levied on any fees paid after the first day of the Quarter plus interest of 2% per month. Cheques should be made payable to Hill House School. Receipts are not sent unless requested at the time of payment.

Admission

Stage One

Children can enter Hill House at any age between four and eleven years old if places are available, there is no formal entry examination. Parents are invited to visit Hans Place any day of the week during term time, between 8.30 and 9.00am only, for a tour of the school. There is no need for an appointment — please just come when it is convenient for you. After the tour, if you wish, you may complete the simple entry application form. All entry forms must be completed by the parents in person at Hans Place. We will not send or receive forms by post or accept forms signed by third parties.

Stage Two

We will ask you to confirm your continued interest by sending a non refundable Registration fee of £100 per child. Once we have received this, we will send you a confirmation card for a conditional place at Hill House.

Stage Three

During the term before entry we will ask you to commit yourself to entry at Hill House by completing our Registration document and sending the first Quarter's school fee. When this is received your place at Hill House is guaranteed and thus no refund will be made in case of non appearance.

It is important to remember that if you change your address you keep us informed so that we do not lose touch with you.

Declaration

Both parents, in applying for their child's admission to Hill House, agree to abide by the standard terms and conditions of the school (and may undergo reasonable changes from time to time as circumstances require) and that the school may obtain, process and hold personal information about their child for the purpose of assessment and the welfare of the pupil whilst at Hill House.

School Hours

Arriving in the mornings

We know that travelling in London is difficult, which is why half an hour is allowed for arrival. All our buildings are in residential areas so please do not arrive before our buildings open at 8.00am and do not allow your children to run up and down on the pavements outside our buildings. Local residents complain about this more than anything else in the morning. Teaching begins at 8.30am so please realise that children who arrive after that time interrupt the work of the whole class. Persistent latecomers may be refused admission until a suitable break in the morning's timetable.

Leaving in the evenings

Pupils in Senior School and the Sixth Form must do their prep at school so that we can supervise their work and give help and encouragement where it is needed. Senior school pupils must stay until 5.30pm and Sixth form pupils until 5.50pm (Juniors) or 6.00pm (Seniors) on Mondays to Thursdays. If they have younger brothers or sisters they will be looked after at Hans Place until the elder child has finished work so that parents only have to make one collection. Pupils will not be allowed home early and parents should not ask for special dispensation. There is ample time on Friday afternoons for extra activities, routine visits to doctors and dentists and appointments should be made for that time. Any extra activities on Mondays to Thursdays must be booked after school hours and not during prep time.

We reserve the right to suspend pupils whose attendance at school is irregular or unsatisfactory in the interests of the majority who abide by the school regulations.
